On Saturday, Madison graduated to a Green Belt in Karate. She has been practicing really hard and is looking forward to starting sparring now. She was also 'Star Student' at school this week - Congratulations Maddy!
Uniform is cleaned and pressed and we're ready for the Graduation ceremony...
This is the hard part...I have to remember all of my combinations....
You have to look at your instructor when you bow to show respect...
Ms. Ariana has helped me learn my kicks and punches too...
This is my graduating class...
Daddy took me ice skating in the evening to celebrate!

Our Long Easter Weekend
Maddie's spring break started on Monday so Michael and I took off Thursday and Friday for some extra family time. We started out with Sea World since we haven't been there for a few years.
It's changed a lot. Great deals on admission - on a one day pass you can go back for free for the rest of the year. The new Shamu show is called 'Believe' and officially launches in May. We were able to see the rehearsals - in fact our show was the first official run-through apparently. It's a very emotional show all about a kid's dream to swim with whales (they start you out close to tears with a tribute to the troops and allies overseas and have all of their families in the audience stand...). The trainer tells you about when she was 12 and came to Sea World and found her destiny. She broke down crying mid-performance - I thought it was completely scripted (cynical I know) but Michael 'believed' she was truly overwhelmed. So, if you are over that way, we are dying to know if whale-trainer-girl 'Dawn' cries 6 times a day for the Shamu show or not....keep us posted....regardless, the show was great!
The dolphin show was very suprising...kind of Sea World meets Cirque du Soleil...lots of costumes and birds. Very extravagant. I remember the days when we were impressed that we can make dolphins jump over high ropes...
Overall it was a really great day out - and perfect weather too!
On Easter Sunday we went over to see Nana, Liz and Matt, Jen, Rich and Mya and Eileen after the Easter Bunny had visited and left Maddy candy-filled eggs all over the house and a basket full of goodies.
Easter morning hunting for eggs...
Dressed up with Mya searching for more eggs at Nana's...
Do I have to take all of these pictures before I can eat the candy?
I love my bunny ears...
Easter fun with Mya!
