Goblin Valley State Park and Capitol Reef

I took a day off mid-week and we went to the other-worldly Goblin Valley State Park and the beautiful Capitol Reef National Park!

Waterton Lakes National Park

We were so thrilled to make it into Canada!

Waterton Lakes National Park is attached to Glacier and they are managed together as the first International Peace Park. We were blown away by just how beautiful it  was...

We loved the famous Prince of Wales hotel!

And we loved the Bears Hump Trail!

The trip was over so quickly but I feel like we did so much and the decision to go to Canada paid off big. What an amazing adventure - can't wait to do it again!

Glacier National Park

For our next trip we decided to pick just one amazing National Park to explore for a whole week. We saw Glacier was kind of out of the way and the photos looked so beautiful. When we arrived the fires had created a haze over the whole place which made everything feel mystical somehow...

We saw a grizzly bear the very first night we arrived!

The following morning we got up with the sun to hit the trails...

We saw a long horned sheep and a grizzly bear cub!

The next morning we headed out to do the famous Avalanche Lake hike. It was just gorgeous...

The weather dropped about 30 degrees over night so we went for a drive on the Going-To-The-Sun road. It's the one featured in the opening to the movie The Shining (link here) and just as terrifying - particularly in low visibility weather. Once we were done we relaxed on a boat tour on the beautiful Lake McDonald:)

We hiked around Two Medicine and decided to take the plunge and try and visit Canada too while we were right there...
