RIP Chef...

We were so sad to lose our precious boy, Chef last week. Although we think he was around 12 years old (which is pretty good for a chinchilla in captivity), he's been flourishing lately so it still came as a bit of a shock. It seemed to be by natural causes; he passed in his sleep I think and I found him in his little house :(. Chef has been a great pet and we've loved him for the past 8 years. Chloe seems to be doing well without him so hopefully she'll be OK on her own.

I haven't posted any pictures of our babies in ages. The chins are both really well and doing a great job of...well just being generally adorable...we love them:)

Chloe and Chef update!

It has now been over a year since we adopted Chloe and Chef, our gorgeous chinchillas! They have settled in so well into our home and they now have a whole room to run around in during playtime. Unfortunately they are very much still rodents and so can't help but try chew off the base boards or burrow through the dry-wall...

So...we just had to repair the damage and redecorate their room and have accepted the fact that we are going to have to repaint more regularly to keep up with them. But they are so worth it...:)

The Christmas card outtake!

We spent the best part of a whole evening getting the Christmas card picture together this year. Worth it though - not for the card but the 'outtake' makes me laugh every time I see it :)

Welcome Chloe and Chef Early!!

We got our two chinchillas from a lady who was looking to rehome them so that she can set up a dog rescue facility. They are both incredibly smart and playful and we are spoiling them rotten:)
