Happy Christmas!

We had a lovely family Christmas celebration the weekend before the big day:)

It's the run up to Christmas...

We decided to go to the UK this year so that we can wake up in England on Christmas Day for the first time in 20 years:). Since we are not going to be in the States, we decided to keep things simple on the home front and focus on enjoying our beautiful home and each other for the last few weeks of the year:)

Professor Langley is getting spoiled rotten...

He's just so stinking handsome...

Maddy even lets him sleep on her bed:)

Rich, Jen and Mya came to stay for the weekend and I finally saw the new firework show at MK - it was gorgeous!

The lanai is getting a lot of use and we love it when the neighbors pop by...

Maddy and her college friends took a little trip up to Georgia and rented a cabin. I love that she shares our love of the outdoors...

Just a few more days and we will be on our way. And Professor Langley will get to reunite with his adorable foster mom. We are all going to have an amazing Christmas and great start to the New Year!

Welcome Professor Langley!

It's been a few months now since we lost our precious Juneau and we felt ready to open our hearts to a new senior dog again:). We found "Professor" on petfinder.com - he had been surrendered at the age of 10 due to skin issues and nursed back to health by Stacey - his kind, sweet and beautiful foster.

We like favorite place names for our dogs and Langley was where Maddy interned this Summer. We thought Professor Langley was totally perfect!

We think he's an American Staffie/Boxer mix but not sure. He sleeps a lot and loves to snuggle. He's in great shape for his age and settled in really quickly. He's only just learned to sit in the past couple of months so I'll be curious whatever else he can learn - he's super smart!

It was a super emotional day for all of us. His foster loved him very much and he reminds us so much of our previous dogs - it's like having a bit of them back again...

Now we have a brand new lanai so he can sit out back with us while we grill and make fires. He loves it and we love him!

And the neighbors welcomed him too!

Gail’s Visit

After a tricky and tiring settling in period with my new job it was great to have Gail visit so that I could get some much needed downtime with my sister! She arrived just in time for Halloween so we went to see “Holiday Joe’s” spectacular display - it’s hard to believe he lives here!

We snuck away for a girls weekend in St. Augustine. The first night we stayed on the beach - it was gorgeous waking up to this!

We took a lovely walk on the beach and then did some sight seeing in town...

We stayed in a hotel right by the Castillo de San Marcos...

And had a touristy boat ride:)

The following weekend we got to see Maddy and went to the Winter Garden farmer's market

We got our nature fix walking in Oakland...

We even went to a concert - Simple Minds were amazing! 

And Food & Wine at Epcot:)
