Summer is almost here:)

As we finally emerge from the dreaded pandemic, we decided to take a test 'mini-vacation' to see if we could remember how to pack a suitcase and wear shoes again:). We stopped at the epic bucc-ees on the way to St. Augustine - Mike was in hog heaven...

Professor slept his way through our trip at Disney's luxury VIP Pet Resort experience. I spent most of the trip checking on him via webcam:) 

We had cocktails at the beach bar the minute we arrived. I was asleep about an hour after these bad boys - couldn't handle the pace:)

It was so lovely to walk around the old town maskless and worry free now we are all vaccinated...:)

We had a blast playing 'tourist' at the wax museums and local attractions...

I showed Annie Oakley how to wear a mask wrong...

At Ripley's we saw the second of only two full-sized replicas of Michelangelo's statue of David. We saw the other one in Florence back in the day when cruising was a thing...

We watched a yacht race...

And walked on the beach...

It was really lovely:). A great dry run for our big trip to the Dakotas in June - I am beyond excited!!

I also finished my first dollhouse reno of the year recently. Love how it turned out and can't wait for the fun part when we give it away:)

Now I need to try and get into the real, full-sized Shrunk magazine to see if I can get this idea of 'creating and donating' to catch on:)

Moving Forward

We had already started planning some travel and were anticipating getting our shots by the middle of June. Then my "no waste wait list" strategy payed off big and I got called to get a J&J !!!

And just like that, I was all done and back at my desk within an hour. One and done!

Mike got his first shot the next week and will get his second this week! 

We are both so very grateful to the thousands of scientists, researchers and test participants that made this amazing accomplishment possible. We were incredibly lucky to get the shots so early too.

So now we just need to get Maddy hers and we will all be done. She's doing great by the way - staying busy by building a computer!! Crazy, right?  

I'll stick to my dollhouses - I know my lane:)

Sweet Georgia :)

Like everyone else it feels like forever since we had a vacation. We have decided not to fly until we are vaccinated so, in the meantime, we decided to pack up the Professor and take a trip to the Georgia mountains for a week to get away from it all:)

Our cabin was so rustic, remote and adorable...

The dog settled in just fine and found his favorite spot where he could watch the birds and trees:)

I joined him and did the same for absolutely hours:)

We did take him out for a field trip to the nearest state park...

The scenery was gorgeous and it felt so good to be cold!

And this was us for a full week: puzzles, TV, naps, coffee, music and nature:)

Now back to reality...I'm going to miss that fire...;)

Nooming and Naturing

We've been on a health kick to start off the new year and I'm doing the Noom program and love it! My current favorite is ice cream made out of bananas. It's the best!

We also have a weekly challenge to encourage healthy habits - I am currently jump rope champion:)

Steps are key so we walk a lot at the weekends; our trips to Lake Apopka really paid off last week when we saw our first bobcat there!

Professor Langley is in the mix too and Mike has perfected his recipe for healthy dog treats:)

And now it's finally time for a little vacation so we are off to the Georgia mountains soon!

Big hopes for 2021...

Feeling very hopeful that we will be through this pandemic this year. And so for now, we are focused on enjoying life just as it is without exotic travel or live music:)

We may be pretty isolated still but I do love just sitting out back with a fire and the Professor💗

And we still have our lovely nature walks...

And some new dollhouses that really need some love...

And Maddy is doing great too! She loves her work at Busch Gardens and is staying happy and healthy!

We have so much to be grateful for and 2021 is going to be perfect:)
