Our special girls!

Since we adopted the dogs we have stayed in regular touch with Bryce and Juneau's amazing foster moms. We were thrilled that they were able to come and see them (and us:)) in person at the weekend. Way before we came along, the girls nursed our dogs back to health and they loved them so much. The dogs recognized them instantly and were so happy to see them too - it was beautiful to watch!

I know how hard it was for them to trust us back on that day in August and we are so grateful to have received such a loving gift for our family. Thank you Alicia and Kristi - you will always be a special part of our extended family. Hope to see you again soon!

Girls' Staycation

To keep the momentum from our fab girls-only trip to West Palm Beach in January, Maddy and I booked a cruise for Presidents Day weekend. Through a bizarre set of circumstances, the first and then second bookings were both done incorrectly by two different cruiselines so we didn't end up going in the end. We decided to make the best of it and have a staycation instead and play like tourists for a change!:)

We started the weekend with the opening night of the new show Rivers of Light at Animal Kingdom. It is really beautiful...

We treated ourselves to an amazing dinner at Tiffins...

The next day we went to Universal Studios. We love the new Kong ride!

And Harry Potter of course...

On Sunday we watched movies at home and did some retail therapy together. Then on Monday we went to the beach...Blizzard Beach!

It was my first time in 20 years - it was a perfect day to round off a perfect girls' weekend!

Blue Springs State Park

Last weekend we had what could be the last of the 'cold' weather for a while which always draws in manatee to our springs. Blue Springs is less than an hour from our home so we headed over to take a walk and say goodbye to the manatee for another season...

These fish nests are so cool!

Our beautiful dogs...x

At the Shelter

I did my first pre-opening shift at the shelter at the weekend and it was so rewarding:). When I got there, the dogs were barking and desperate to get outside. I worked with a really lovely and very experienced volunteer and together we managed to get as many dogs as possible exercised, cuddled and quietened down in time for opening. I learned a lot from her and the dogs I got to interact with were all completely delightful. - it's so hard sometimes to understand how they got there...

I know that for most people the shelter is a sad place but when I go I feel like I can actually make a difference, albeit a small one. And that makes me really happy :).

Our Soccer Star!

Maddy celebrated her last official varsity soccer game and was recognized for her dedication at a special ceremony at the school. Michael was so proud of his baby girl and Maddy is so grateful for her team - they are such beautiful girls, inside and out!
