Braving the Rock 'n Roller Coaster!

After a really busy last few days running around all over the place, we managed to squeeze in a great night out at Disney Hollywood Studios!

The newly relaunched 'Fantasmic!' show was just amazing!!

Most people don't know that I have developed a bit of phobia of roller coasters over the past few years. It's becoming a bit of a problem now that Maddy doesn't have anyone to ride with if we're ever at a park on our own :(. I've been promising myself I'll do some 'exposure therapy' and force myself to brave a ride or two (it's so crazy - I used to love roller coasters) but have been putting it off for a while now. Anyway, this is the year that I've decided to 'face my fears.' Specifically the goal for 2012 is to ride every one of the Florida Disney theme park attractions. Last night I decided to brave one of the 'big ones' and do the Aerosmith Rock 'n Roller Coaster! I had two beers to summon up the courage, grit my teeth, and held onto Maddy's hand for dear life. Just 1 minute 22 seconds later I was all done! Rock On!!!

There are so many attractions at Disney Hollywood Studios and we didn't even scratch the surface in one night! And Tower of Terror? I'm coming after you soon...

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

St. Patrick's Day fell on a Yankees game day this year and the Kelly family were in town too!

It was such a beautiful day for a baseball game...

Only an idiot falls for a marketing trick like overpriced green Yankees clothing that only really makes sense if there happens to be a game on March 17th...

Can't imagine why my judgement was impaired...

My favorite part of the game :)

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!

More HOB...

We didn't get in until about 4am and woke up late and starving hungry after the GNR show. So it was back to the House of Blues for the Sunday Gospel Brunch!! They had completely transformed in just a few hours and the show was absolutely uplifting and beautiful. We were on our feet, clapping and singing. Much like the previous night actually :)

On Mum's last Sunday here it was actually Mother's Day in the UK. We went to Animal Kingdom to celebrate. It was totally pouring with rain so we weren't quite sure what to expect. Actually the animals weren't put off at all by all of the water and we got to see some animals up close and personal for the first time!

So that's the end of our visitors and we get the house back to ourselves for the first time in about 6 weeks. I see lots of episodes of Dallas in our future...

Guns N' Roses at the HOB

The GNR show was totally amazing last night! For some reason they are touring a bunch of really small venues so we were excited to get our hands on tickets for House of Blues at Downtown Disney which only has a capacity of about a thousand people. OK so it's really only Axl Rose but in my mind- that's really all you need ;) Slash was great and all but even I can do Sweet Child O' Mine on Guitar Hero so how hard can it be? And I got 5 stars on Medium once...

Anyway, he may have turned 50 last week but Axl still gives a really high energy performance. His attitude is still completely out of control so he didn't even hit the stage until 12:20am for a 9pm show. We were surprised by just how good he still is though and it went on and on and on...for three hours!

Christian and Jen...

Still rockin' the red bandana...and apparently a 'stash. And a Mickey Mouse shirt :)

Cameras were banned of course and they had a whole squad of people doing full checks before we went in. I'm glad the ol' "hide the camera in the boot and make a distracting joke while you're being patted down" trick still works after 20 years...

Live and Let Die...

Where do we go...where do we go now???

Paradise City baby!

Good times :)
