Camp Wewa

Summer is officially here so we dropped Maddy off at camp today. Camp Wewa (link to website here!) is a residential summer camp set in the Apopka woodlands and surrounded by lakes. Operated by the YMCA, Wewa camps offer kids and teens growth opportunities in self-confidence, leadership, friendship and faith. The emphasis is on outdoor fun and adventure, and activities are designed to help them develop responsibility, self-esteem, leadership skills and create new friendships through teamwork. There are no electronic devices allowed at camp so this will be the first time that we have been away from our baby without even being able to call or text :(.

When we arrived, we were more nervous than she was but the place looked totally amazing and I'm sure she will have a fantastic time:).

She couldn't wait to shake us off (we are at that age where me and Mike are "sooooo embarrassing") so we left and decided to stop off at Lake Apopka on the way home. We saw some awesome birds today. Firstly, this guy in the parking lot...

So now we are wondering what to do with ourselves for a whole week. Thank God Mike managed to set up the DVD finally. We only moved in 8 mths ago - I think that's a record ;)
